Steven S. Wu is a pediatrician, gastroenterologist, researcher and medical director who has worked extensively in both academic medicine and industry. He holds degrees from Harvard University and the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed residency and fellowship training at the University of California, Los Angeles.
His work in the nutrition and pharmaceutical industries has encompassed Clinical Development and Medical Affairs roles within the US, Europe and Asia, including clinical trial oversight, collaborative research, nutritional product innovation, regulatory support, and scientific communication and education. He has authored many peer-reviewed publications based on work done in both academic and industry-sponsored settings, and has served on faculty at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Utah, and currently at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
His clinical interests include functional GI diseases, food allergy and intolerance, obesity and related metabolic disease, and the role of nutrition in mental development. He also pursues interests in medical education, international engagement, and cross-cultural exchange of ideas, and has lectured on scientific topics (in person and virtually) across the US, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French and conversant in additional languages.
